Deb has been a member of West
Central MN SHRM since 1996 and a National SHRM member since 1999. Deb holds a
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Minnesota State
University-Moorhead and also completed the Human Resource Management Program at
Cardinal Stretch University.
Deb works as a Human Resource
Supervisor at Alexandria Extrusion Company in Alexandria, MN. She has a
background in many areas of Human Resources and her current focus is on
recruitment as well as other HR functions.
In addition to being the
Treasurer of West Central MN SHRM, Deb is a Leadership Alexandria graduate and
has been involved with the Job Fair committee and the local Diversity Resource
Action Alliance.

Katie
Jerde is PHR-certified (Human Resources Professional) with over eight years in
the field. As a Team Relations Generalist at Tastefully Simple, she
concentrates on staffing, orientation, team member development, and leadership
coaching and performance management.
Katie has
also facilitated training sessions on FISH, Diversity and Harassment, Domestic
Violence Awareness, Behavioral-based Interviews, Career Development, and other
related topics. She is involved with DECCA, Junior Achievement, Co-Chair
of the Business & Employer’s Council, and Vice President of the West Central MN
SHRM chapter.

Amy is currently a member of the West Central MN SHRM chapter and has been a
national member since 2007 Amy graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science degree
from St. Cloud State University in 2000, with her areas of study in applied
psychology and sociology. Amy also completed a course in human resource
management at Century College in 2007, and earned her Professional in Human
Resources certification in 2008.
Amy has been employed with The Work Connection since 2001 and serves as the Area
Manager, overseeing the recruitment, staffing and various other HR functions for
four of the company’s area offices.

Teresa is the Human
Resources/Benefit Administrator at WASP, Inc. in Glenwood, MN. WASP, Inc. is a
manufacturer of Ground Support Equipment for the airline industry and conveyor
systems for the package handling industry. With over 12 years in the field, her
main focus is on employee benefits, compensation, legal compliance, employee
relations, policies/procedures and staffing.
Teresa holds a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources
with a minor in Speech Communication from St. Cloud State University. She has
been a member of West Central SHRM since 2003 and a national SHRM member since
2000.
In addition to her role as
secretary, Teresa is also a member of Dream It Do It, Minnewaska Local Area
Manufacturing Group, The West Central Wellness SHIP (Statewide Health
Improvement Program) Team, along with many volunteer positions in the community.

Ashlie has been a member of the West Central MN SHRM since 2005 and a national
member since 2006. Ashlie graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree from the
University of Minnesota with Distinction in 2005. Her focus of study was Human
Resource Development and Human Resources and Industrial Relations at the College
of Education and Human Development and the Carlson School of Management. Ashlie earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in 2008.
Ashlie is employed at Broadway Medical Center as their Human Resource
Generalist. Ashlie works on the Administrative team focusing on compensation and
benefits administration, staffing and selection, employee relations, performance
management, and legal compliance.
In addition to being Treasurer of West Central MN
SHRM, Ashlie is a member of the Business and Employers Council and the
Alexandria Young Professionals group. Ashlie is also involved with the Job Fair
Committee.

Amy is a
Team Relations Generalist at Tastefully Simple, Inc. She concentrates on
recruitment and selection, orientation, job description development, performance
management and providing general support to leadership and team members. Amy
graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Management with a Human Resources emphasis and obtained her PHR
certification in 2009.
In
addition to her role as Newsletter Chair and Webmaster, Amy is involved in Big
Brothers Big Sisters, the Alexandria Area Young Professionals group and is a
group fitness instructor at the Tastefully Simple wellness center.

Human Resource Specialist
Kim Hoffmann
is a Human Resources Specialist at American Solutions for Business (ASB), a
nationwide distributor of business documents, systems, technology, packaging,
office supplies, promotional products and electronic solutions. Based in
Glenwood, Minnesota, ASB is an employee-owned company with over 1,000 sales
associates and support staff.
Kim has been
an active member of West Central Minnesota SHRM since 2002. She holds an
Associate of Applied Science Degree and a Professional of Human Resources
Certification. During her career in the Human Resources field, she has
specialized in staffing; both in manufacturing and administrative
arenas, with particular interest in safety and diversity programs.
A native of
the Alexandria area, Kim and her family are involved with various organizations
serving the communities West Central MN SHRM represents.

Sam has been a member of West Central MN SHRM since 2000 and a National SHRM
member since 1997. Prior to the formation of the West Central MN SHRM Chapter,
she was a member of the Central MN (St. Cloud) SHRM Chapter. Sam holds a
Bachelors Degree in Speech Communication from the University of Minnesota.
Sam has been the Director of Human Resources for American Solutions for
Business, a national business solutions distributor with 900 employees in 49
states. As Director of HR, Sam is an active member of the company's Management
Team, making certain that the company's human resources are aligned with the
strategic direction of the company. Prior to joining American, Sam held HR
generalist, specialist, and management positions with Honeywell and
Dayton-Hudson Corporation. Overall, she has 25+ years of Human Resources
experience.
In addition to her role as Legislative Chair, Sam is active in, and past
Chair of, the Board of Directors of the West Central MN Healthcare Purchasing
Alliance. She also currently serves on the Rural Minnesota CEP, Inc. Workforce
Council.

Shari is a member of West Central MN SHRM and a
national SHRM member since 1998. Shari has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree
in management from Southwest Minnesota State University-Marshall and received
her Professional of Human Resources Certification in 2009.
Shari is the Chief Human Resources Officer at
Alexandria Technical College in Alexandria, Minnesota. She has been with the
college for over 30 years and the leader of the Human Resources Department for
over 14 years.
In addition to her role as Diversity Chair, she is a
Leadership Alexandria graduate and active in the Alexandria Lakes Area
Professional Women and the Alexandria Area Diversity Resource Action Alliance.

Alexandria WorkForce Center
A member of the staff of
Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program (CEP) at the Alexandria
WorkForce Center since 1998, Kris works with area employers and job seekers,
providing workforce development services through federal and state employment
and training programs within the Minnesota WorkForce Center System. This work
involves introducing individuals to career options and the skills necessary for
successful employment; helping individuals find, get, and keep jobs, and grow in
their careers; helping employers find and keep workers; and assisting employers
in the development of their existing workforce.
Before joining Rural
Minnesota CEP, Kris was an educator, small business owner, and staffing
representative. She received a bachelors degree in mathematics and education
from the University of Minnesota, Morris. In addition to involvement with the
West Central Minnesota SHRM chapter for the past 11 years, she has been active
with the Lakes Area Business & Employer Council, Lakes Area Manufacturing
Partnership, and Alex Area Stewards Initiative.

Jessie has been a member of
West Central MN SHRM since 2004 and a National SHRM member since 2002. Jessie
graduated with her Bachelors of Science degree from St. Cloud State University
in 2003. Her focus of study was Business Management, emphasizing Human Resources
from the G.R. Herberger College of Business and a minor in Communication Studies
from the College of
Fine Arts and Humanities. Jessie earned her PHR certification in January of 2009.
Jessie has been employed at
Douglas Machine Inc. in Alexandria, MN since 2003. She works as a Human Resource
Generalist focusing on the administration, planning, and implementation of
employee benefits, recruitment, employee relations, and health promotion.
